So when possible always pull a cat6 cable to your equipment. Network cable can be used to transmit audio, video, and ir signal with the right adapters. It’s also a cheaper option when running cables over long distance, it makes more sense to run cat6 cables instead of video cables as cat 6 has a smaller footprint.
If speed is your deal cat 6 wired devices are a better option as well. Devices like Apple TV perform better over wired cable than wi-fi connections mainly because most user wife if not top-tier and the wi-fi is shared over the network while the hard-line goes directly to your switch or router.

If you even think it’s a possibility to connect something in that location in the future do it.Its easier when the walls are open than after they close. Cat 5 cable is becoming obsolete as is it not capable of handling higher network speeds with higher bandwidth requirements. Also Make sure electricians leave enough room for low voltage.
